Our Prayer for America
“Heavenly Father, we come before you today to humbly
ask Your forgiveness and to seek Your direction and
guidance. We give You our most sincere promise of
repentance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those
who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have
done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and
reversed our Godly-inspired values, Your gifts of balance.
We have continually exploited the foolish and the poor
and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded utter laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn children and called it choice.
We have murdered abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it
building self esteem and healthy development.
We have accepted debased alternative live styles and
called them acceptable, optional and normal.
We have abused power and position, labeling them politics.
We have greedily coveted our neighbor's possessions with
selfish desires and lust, and unabashedly called it ambition.
We have contaminated our minds with obscene filth, using
profanity, viewing pornography and have called it freedom
of expression, and artistic creativeness.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our nation’s
forefathers, calling it enlightenment, and liberating.
We have traded eloquent speech and educated rhetoric
for foul, scurrilous vulgarity, and shameful profane language.
We have allowed ourselves to be deceived by foolishly and
naively, trusting men who lie, steal and cheat unconscionably.
We have blindly trusted those who come to us with promises
of change when Your vision clearly dictates otherwise.
Instead of accepting your Holy Word, we invent new ways,
write new books and begin new false religions to subvert
Your Son’s path to salvation. We have forgotten the cross.
Heavenly Father, please read our hearts and seek the depths
of our souls where You live and cleanse us once again from
transgression and untold personal grudges. Let Your Holy
Spirit have full reign in our lives, starting again, now. Amen!”
